Innocorp sells alcohol impairment simulator kits ranging from $1,060 to $6,250. These goggles aim to show people the effects of alcohol by blurring eyesight and peripheral vision.
My idea is to create a virtual reality experience that will reproduce the effects of alcohol and drugs, offering a more powerful and visual experience than the simple goggles.
A virtual reality drug and alcohol simulator would be also cheaper ($20 for Google Cardboard vs. $1,060 for the cheapest goggle kit), and it would offer a wider variety of effects (not just alcohol).
My initial proposal is to create a room in which the user can pick a alcoholic beverage or a specific drug. By doing so, the user would trigger a reaction that would replicate the effect of the item picked. I plan on using Unity, PlayMaker or Mixamo to realize this project.
Prof. Pacheco said that I might be the first person to make someone feel sick in the Innovation Lab. So, yes, I want to be that guy.
