Assignment 5

What I love about watching the NYT360 videos on Google Cardboard is the feeling of being transported directly into a scene. For my video, I made that scene two friends making a late night snack and just catching up with one another in general.

The video is comprised of three scenes around the kitchen. The first has viewers seemingly sitting at the kitchen table with the us, the second was intended to get a better shot of the food being prepared, and the third is more of a bird's eye view. To be completely transparent, none of the shots ended up completely as I intended because the viewer has to turn around in order to watch the action of the scene (which is really just two friends chatting). Because of this, I added in writing to each scene to allow viewers understand the action of the video. In the second scene, I was hoping to get the camera closer to the cooking, but the shot came out further away than I intended because I was worried about getting too close to the over burners.

The lighting for each scene was just the kitchen with the lights on at night, and the audio in the video is really just a voiceover of the conversation my friend and I were having. I didn't really love how it came out, so for my next video I will take the lighting more into consideration when planning out each shot.

This story is moved on by the conversation, and also by the the continuation of shots. It's not the most engaging story, but it allowed me to figure out how to better visualize setting up a scene in the future.
