For my independent learning project I chose to seek out some further guides on using Playmaker for Unity. Initially I tried to watch some of the lynda.com videos on blackboard, but found that most didn't touch on playmaker. After searching through lynda.com and not having much luck, I went to youtube and found a great series of tutorials on playmaker.
Although the guy creating the videos has quite the accent, I found his videos gave some really useful tips to make animating easier. My favorite tip was renaming objects for their purpose. If for example you have 20 of the same tree, but only want to animate one, you can label that one tree by what you want it to do (i.e. Falling Leaves Tree). This makes it much easier to designate where you want your animations to be an what objects you want to attach it to.
This allowed me to separate my candy pieces on the path to the house and more easily animate them.
Eqvaliser has a lot of great youtube videos on animation and I watched 4-5, but my favorite can be found here: Unity3D a fast introduction to the playmaker plugin. I highly reccomend the tutorials to anyone struggling with playmaker or who just wants some good tips to make the process simpler.
