As a PR girl, I made this 360 video a PR one to raise awareness of dressing colorfully to lift the spirits. I shot some scenes in October when I went hiking. And I used those scenic parts as a lead to give the audience a feeling that colorful landscape can lighten up your world. So does your outfit. Then I shot some follow-up videos, wearing a light green skirt and a red skirt to represent the colorful leaves. In the end, I showed the big idea – introduce bold hues into your daily looks.
In total, there are more than 15 different scenes and half of them are moving ones. When it comes to 360 videos, such a work can take forever to shoot, stitch and edit. I shot multiple times for each walking scene and it did take me a long time to pair them and stitch. Though hard, it was definitely fun and creative. I studied online to correct colors. I even made nadirs in several different sizes to match different scenes, because some walking scenes need a larger nadir to cover a head below.
The most thrilling part was to watch the real 360 video. I felt so excited and also found some limitations that I can improve in the future. First, drag those texts down to avoid distortion. Those floating texts look odd when they are too high in the air, which I didn’t notice before. Or I can use a smaller font. Just remember: what I see in Premiere is not the same in cardboard. Practice makes perfect. Second, make sure I hold the camera in a right way when I shoot while moving. By doing so, I can present a clean and simple scene and don’t have to use a big nadir to hide the distraction. Additionally, empty the camera and reset time before shooting. That can definitely save me a lot of time.
Overall, it was an amazing experience. Thank you, Prof. Pacheco and all my friends.
