MaryMargaret Treinin- Final Project Post

MaryMargaret Treinin- Final Project Post

My group and I wanted to create a tour that would give viewers an understanding of Newhouse through the lens of innovation. From Newhouse 1 to the Innovation Lab, our school has a history of media innovation.

Where exactly do I begin?... I cannot believe that this experience is over. From pre-production to the countless hours of post-production, my team and I managed to produce a solid and captivating 360 video. I learned a mass amount of information while producing this video. The first thing I learned was organization and the importance of planning ahead. Organization and planning ahead are extremely valuable. During our pre-production and production phase,  we had to make sure that the studios were booked, keys were borrowed, equipment was in place, equipment worked and equipment was charged. Because I was head of the audio, I had to make sure that all audio devices were charged and ready to go. During this process, I learned never to use a Task cam ever again! Every time we had to check out/check in equipment, we were given different Task Cam's. Even though these Task Cams, had the same settings, all were completely different or completely out of whack.

During our pre-production and production phase,  we had to make sure that the studios were booked, keys were borrowed, equipment was in place, equipment worked and equipment was charged. There were many occasions when we had to record in studios with locked doors. We resolved this situation by calling in advance. Another thing I learned was the importance of camera placement. It is extremely important to pay attention to the stitching lines and try not to move around when you are recording. If you do these things, you will ruin the quality of the video.

Because I was head of the audio, I had to make sure that all audio devices were charged and ready to go. During this process, I learned to never to use a Task cam ever again! Every time we had to check out/check in equipment, we were given different Task Cam's. Even though these Task Cams, had the same settings, all were completely different or completely out of whack. During the last take of the Innovation Lab Tour, the Task Cam did not come in good use. We had to eventually record individual audio on our phones.

However, from the start, I knew that our group was meant to be and we would be okay at the end. Each group member had several creative and talented abilities that eventually were used to our advantage. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better team and a better group of people to work with. #TeamSuperGroupProductions
