Assignment 7 was extremely challenging, but, armed with the knowledge I had to catch up on after missing class when we went over how to do assignment 6, I was able to create a simple desert deer man scene with a rad character I downloaded from Mixamo. Here is my Unity assignment 7. I got the basics of making the character move back and forth down, which took a while but was cool. But what I am particularly proud of was grabbing my own sound and making the miniature concert you can see at the end of the scene. The sound doesn't work from the screen grab, but...
This one went very smoothly. I continue to not be able to get a screen capture program to work on my computer, however, so this is sadly my third video made with an iphone. Good news is it has disco.
Exploring new assets make this assignment even more interesting. I play with the settings of the metal barrels and check the USE GRAVITY icon and find out that it will make the scene more "real world". But I'm still confused about the lag of the animation of my character, even if I tried all the options I could think of.
Here is my scene. The clapping lady is the trigger - once I arrive her, the old man passes out, and the swordsman walks to the dancing woman.
For this assignment I downloaded Shae from the Mixamo online store with a walking animation. I had Shae walk from one object to another when I entered the trigger object.
