360 Nadir Patch One thing that I want to take credit during this course is that I was the first to discover how to add nadir patches to 360 videos. The process of doing it is was easier than I thought and didn't require any advanced skill with Autopano. The first step is to create a circular logo. If you know how to do so in Photoshop than you'll be able to create an awesome logo that will fit the story you're trying to tell. Otherwise, on there are plenty...
Games, like VR or 360, are a strange and often difficult medium to tell stories with. However, like VR and 360 video games can be a compelling and visceral way to integrate an audience with themes. Slaying the Dragon has a lot of great insights into story telling within the medium of games. While there is quite a bit of information in the text here are four important things I learned about gaming and game stories from Slaying the Dragon. Games have rules. This one seems self explanatory but it...

As my final project, I am in the process of shooting, stitching, and editing a 360 music interactive video, featuring Outlaws Dance Troupe, a student-run hip-hop dance group on SU's campus. In doing so, my partner, LaQuin Alexander, and I have had some issues with stitching and ghosting. Therefore, I decided to look up a few tutorials about how to handle the all those type of issues. Under each video, I wrote the specific notes from the respective videos, that proved to help with the issues we were having. Want...

I held this interview with Christian Cherene, one of the full time investigators of the Machine to Be Another. I learned so much about the work that these individuals are doing with this interactive system that I did not want to just paraphrase anything because he had so much to say and had so much enthusiasm about his work. The bold print are the questions I asked him and the italicized print are his answers. It was great being able to get to know him and the Machine to Be Another, not just...

NEW 400 VR presentation I am going to present a new shopping device Buy+ created by Alibaba Group in China. Wearing Buy+, customers can shop online in a virtual scene. It is a gift for female shopaholics and a nightmare for their husbands. The device will be released in August. I simply introduce its technology, benefits and problems. Here are the videos that I use in my PointPoint.
Caixin Media had released their Virtual Reality documentary MOUNTAIN VILLAGE KINDERGARTEN in October 2015 on the Fourth International Symposium on Anti-poverty and Child Development. It's a high-quality piece packed with strong storytelling and directing. The content which depicted the suffering life of children from rural mountain villages is really inspiring and thought provoking. Weak educational support for those regions is not a news, yet filming in 360-degree provides audiences a more direct and strong visual impact, entirely exposes the fact, which alert the society how serious the problem is. And in terms...

I did my presentation on the brand new features being offered by YouTube in regards to 360 video and audio. As someone who has always been fascinated and moved by space exploration, the advent of VR is incredibly exciting. While I may never be able to leave the Earth physically, the growing library of space-themed VR experiences means I can have the next best thing - a simulated space adventure. Titans of Space, a VR app developed by DrashVR LLC, is an educational VR experience that takes the user through the solar system and gives them a chance to look at the planets and their moons up close. While the...
