I've never done any type of computer animation before so getting to learn and try out Unity is extremely exciting for me. With that said, I am satisfied with my first project but I am looking forward to learning more PlayMaker and making more complex and interesting scenes. For my project, I decided to do a picnic by the beach. Everyone knows that the whale is mandatory as well, so I through her in there too. As far as what went well, I feel that I was really able to...
Midterms week is crunch time for most of us here at SU. When balancing jobs, extracurriculars, and courses, it's hard to find time to catch up with friends you don't see daily. For this 360 video, I recruited the help from one of my best friends from my trip abroad to do what we do best: blow off steam from school by talking about our lives and eating late-night snacks. This week's snack was scrambled eggs, and the topic of conversation was the best beach reads before going on spring break....
For my assignment 5, I wanted to show how crowded Bird Library gets during a week like midterms or finals week. As someone who goes to the library my fair share, it is definitely obvious that there is more foot traffic going in and out of the building now that at regular times during the semester. As for the video, recording with the Samsung Gear 360 is way better than recording with the Omni, in my opinion. Stitching with Autopano can be a huge time-sucker, and may not look good...
Most stories are told by a person, or from the point of view of someone. However, it is interesting to look at the world from another perspective uncharacteristic to one that we're accustomed to. My idea for this assignment was to show what was it like to be in the position of a book, where we would read, travel with it, and take class with it.

This week is the busiest week before spring break, lots of students are preparing for their midterm exams and project, so I decided to shoot the night of a busy midterm week in the library to explore what everyone is doing. Also, the library is different with other days because of the tents set up on both the first and the second floor. These tents are set to call for the protection of Indian culture. In the last scene, you can even see people lying in the pink tent. In...

THE MAIN CONCEPT The purpose of making this VR video, When Tea Meets Flower, is to show people the interesting process of making Chinese red tea with rose flowers. Generally, VR is widely used in large and wide scene, so I'm trying to explore how to display the beauty of VR when the scene is relatively small, like a "microworld". I'm trying to design a highly immersive experience of making Chinese tea, so in the end of video, there is a scene that I actually shot it inside a tea cup. THE...

For this assignment I decided to film the Assault City Roller Derby team. I thought roller derby would be a visually exciting and fun 360 video. I had a few other ideas and tried filming one of them as well but this idea is what seemed to work best. It was difficult getting a time to film since they did not have regular practice this past week so I had to coordinate and wait until Tuesday night but I think it worked out. I mostly kept the camera at eye...

It's that time of year where newly accepted students are eager to find out more about the new adventure they are about to begin. I remember when i got the acceptance email, first thing i did was to reread the whole email, and read the word "Congratulations" over and over before starting to research more in depth about the school. I used google map to walk around campus to see how the school looks like. This gave me the idea that i should do a 360 video of some of...
At first, I was really unsure what I was going to do my video on. I watched a lot of the NYTimes 360 video's, and realized each of the videos had a compelling story behind them. After having lived in an apartment near Thornden Park and spending some time there going on walks and runs during the day, I realized I wanted to create a video that portrayed Thornden Park in a different light and show that it really isn't this scary or bad place that Syracuse University makes it...
