For the final project, I initially planned to film a video explaining various features of car, but I could not go with that plan due to the fact that the 360 camera did not have resolution good enough to show the details of the car. Thus, I came out with alternative plan that did not require high resolution. As I headed back to my home country, South Korea, relatively earlier than I usually did, I had time to travel around and film a 360 video. So I decided to film...
Welcome to Pan-mun-jom. As the virtual experience begins, please pay attention to the picture in front of you. This project is building the 3d model of the real scene, and the image contains the actual scene which I tried to reconstruct. The tall building looking over the image is called the House of Freedom, a structure which locates on the northern verge of the South Korean border. Going through the building, you will find the boundary between South and North Korea. Panmunjom was a village just north of the de...
For unity assignments and the final project, I took two unity courses in Lynda.com. The first one is Unity 5: 3D Essential Training. The most practical lessons I earned from the course are the notion of meshes and the sound setting. What I meant by the sound setting is the spatial sound which is sensitive the location of the source and the listener. As I wrote in the post of Assignment 5, through this course, I could find the reason for unavailability of the spatial sound in a Unity scene. The other...
In order to make my Unity project, I have learned a lot from Lynda courses and also online tutorials. I have watched Unity 5: 3D Essential Training for basic use, such as adjusting lighting, creating particle system, adding audio and so on. This course helps me master the Unity software. In this post, I want to talk about some online tutorials about C# Script I have watched for making my final project. I think they are really helpful. I will focus on changing scenes in Unity. In my final project,...
Since I came from school of software engineering, I have already learned some programming languages except C#. Therefore, I decided to choose advanced Unity 3D game programming class on lynda.com as my independent study. With my CS background, the grammar is easy to understand for me. I have tried several functions introduced in the video and most of the time, it worked really well. I just felt regretful that I did not choose Unity as my final project, otherwise I could have use what I have learned in the project....
For my final project, I shot a series of videos in a Syracuse restaurant called "With Love", which aims to help refugees as well as people who need help in settling down. It's a connected program with Onondaga Community College. Students learn cooking as well as management. The menu changes every six month to a specific country's food. It has tried Pakistan and Burma.
My final project is a 360 degree video of Collin's Barber & Beauty Shop located in Syracuse, New York. I have been working with this three-generation family for three months on a documentary photo project (https://www.shuran.photography/stills/) and a set of portraits for this family (https://www.shuran.photography/travel/). So when it comes to vr class's final project, I decided to produce a 360 video of how this family actually works in the barbershop and the impact this African American family has brought to the community. When I set out to do this final project, I will say that my goal was a little ambitious. My plan was to on create a scene in Unity where the user gets onto a virtual reality motorcycle and rides it through a city with with traffic to simulate a real motorcycle experience. I wanted the user to be able to use the Oculus Rift and grab onto the virtual handlebar and use it in the same manner that it would be used in real life (like using the throttle...
The goal of my project was to make a cooking show for beginners that made them feel at home and comfortable with the kitchen. The result was a 12 minute cooking show titled Cooking From All Angles. Proposal: http://wp.me/p5y0Rc-1pp The first step in the process was thinking about how to give the viewer the right angles that give you that feeling of being next to someone without boring the audience. The experience was deliberately slow pace because we didn't want to glance over anything to ensure beginner cooks are comfortable....
