Since there are a lot of statues and figures on Sketchfab, I wanted to do something different. Since I have just recently seen a video about a new generation 3D room planning tool, I wanted to do something for that purpose. Maybe someone can use this 3D object for their virtual kitchen.
I did this 3D model by using the trnio app for iOS for the scanning part. Meshlab was used afterwards to edit the model and to remove the surface on which it stood while scanning.
Trnio worked pretty well at the beginning, but somehow stopped working. I wanted to add another grocery item to the saltshaker, but unfortunately the app did never finish to create the preview for this item. I couldn't find any solution to stop it from preparing the preview, which is why it is still pretending to process the 3D model.
The workflow with meshlab is pretty easy after watching a couple of tutorials. The export also worked pretty well.
