Assignment 4- Knickerbocker

This assignment was the first that didn't seem to be 8,000 problems for me. I like the way that Mixamo is very user friendly, and that you can take a prefab character and animate it and have it functioning in your scene in just a few simple steps. For my project I just chose a random character, Andromeda, who I thought looked strange enough to be doing the strange animation I added to her for my scene- spinning on her head.

I added one Andromeda head spinning and another Andromeda looking at her neutral idling as if she's just looking at the other character thinking what on earth are you doing. Then I added benches and a table with chairs to make it appear as though there's all of these places to sit and all the girl wants to do is spin on her head. That allowed me to have a little bit of a story or joke going on with the scene without having to overly complicate things.

The one problem I was consistently having with the Mixamo characters was their skin coloring. They initially came in with the zombie effect, which I went into the shader and made them opaque to rid that. But for some reason then their skin tried to stay Avatar blue, even though it was clicked as being on the skin shade that downloaded with the prefab. I then had to sort of add custom colors in the shader using the Unity tool and move them to white to get a halfway normal skin tone. Even then there were little patches that remained the color of the skeleton with no skin, and I was able to figure out how to fix that.

In the end though I'll happily take a few skin tone errors over not being able to animate with playmaker at all like what happened in the last project. I think this project gave me some hope that I may not be completely lost when it comes to the final projects.
