Before last Wednesday's class, I had never had the opportunity to test out and experience virtual reality equipment.  I had read numerous articles, heard stories from friends, and also seen people experience it in movies but the chance to try it never became available till now.  After trying it, I believe Virtual reality is a great, immersive experience and I am not shocked it is becoming more prevalent in today's society.  In each scene I entered through the VR equipment, I actually felt as though I was there and for that moment became only focused on what was going on in my headset.  Other people in the class seemed to get the same experience, looking as though they had forgotten they were at school and fully put their attention to whatever scene they inhabited.  The resolution on most of the headsets was amazing, which made the experience much better.  The cardboard goggles were a bit difficult when it came to fully putting yourself into the scene cause they did not fully cut off peripheral vision.  Also, the addition of using headphones to bring sound into the experience was also a great.  It made me feel more aware of the surroundings I was in and made the experience more enjoyable.  I am genuinely excited to learn more from Prof. Pacheco about VR and get to experience new, interesting scenes.
