Final Project: Zombie Asylum by Wang


This is my final project created by Unity. The story is about a man escaping an asylum that is full of zombie-like patiences.  The asylum was created by Cinema4D. I made some of the props, such as the radio, gurneys and the wheelchair. The patiences and the dead body are prefabs.

. I used various triggers to make the story, including the door, the walls, the radio and the zombies, etc.

Personally, what's good about my project is the dark and scary feeling. I used multiple elements in order to create a scary feeling, such as the music, the blood on the wall and the dead body. I successfully created a contrast between before turning on the radio and after, which is surprising and makes people laugh. The disadvantage is obvious. I only made a small part of the asylum. The space is too small, which might looks bad through VR devices. In addition, there's nothing in the end of the corridor but sky and trees, which looks very strange for an asylum.

The greatest difficulty I encounter was that I have no knowledge of coding. There were tons of things I could not do using triggers only. To solve the problem I tried many things. For example, To make the diary only be read once, I created a double for the diary on the ground, and  use the   radio as a trigger to destroy the original diary with a "read" trigger on. Yet, things I can do are still limited. I wish to learn more about coding in order to tell a better story.
