Unity Scene

So far in the course of this semester, learning the Unity program has been the most challenging task I have taken on. It took me about 4 attempts to actually create a scene and fully understand how to resize models, move them to roughly the area I wanted them to be in, and move around the scene. It's safe to say that I expected this to be more like the Sims, but it's not, at all. My final scene is a walk through of a forest leading up to three...
Unity Test

For my unity test, I did a scene with a nice looking skybox, a boat in the water, and a whale underneath. I was at first attempting to make it so there was a net on the whale, as if someone on the boat was hunting it, but I couldn't figure out how. With the boat, I added a engine noise that has a range of about 50 meters. I have many trees and water surrounding the area, giving it a nice, serene look. I didn't add those myself, but...
"Clockrift" is a title i thought of while deciding the storyline for this scene. A potential storyline for the scene I created could be as follows: Maxwell was a man who was known mostly for who his ancestors were; his essence as a person was often neglected. One day, on his average path through his day in life, he noticed his watch needle had stopped moving. Before he knew it, he was no longer in his hometown working; all he could see were green pastures and a path. Dazed and...
For my assignment 5, I wanted to show how crowded Bird Library gets during a week like midterms or finals week. As someone who goes to the library my fair share, it is definitely obvious that there is more foot traffic going in and out of the building now that at regular times during the semester. As for the video, recording with the Samsung Gear 360 is way better than recording with the Omni, in my opinion. Stitching with Autopano can be a huge time-sucker, and may not look good...

Here is an additional video that was produced to see how well the GoPro Omni rig might capture snowfall. It wasnt the most intense snowfall but it was a central NY snowfall.

I'd like to pitch a 360 video of walking inside the art gallery for those who can't go see themselves but still would like to see the exhibition or the gallery. Currently, there's an exhibition called "Wanderlust: Travel photograph from the Syracuse University Art Collection." It is a collection of original photographs from the late 1800s till now showing travel photos of various places. The video would start from walking into the gallery, and start walking around the exhibition room, while stopping at each photo with titles and short description...
Thoughts and Experiences about VR

I have a very high expectation on VR storytelling class, and our first meeting went beyond it. Among all different kinds of VR headsets, HTC gave me the most engaging and amazing VR experience. I felt physically present in the VR world because the quality of 3D sound, graphics, and even the angel of shooting are highly immersive. I remembered a scene of an island, probably in south Asia. I was seating in a boat and a woman in front me was rowing the boat. I felt myself can even...
My First Impression of Virtual Reality

This past Wednesday was my first time really experiencing virtual reality. I, like many others, have watched 360 videos on my phone. I have also used the interactive VR wall that is in Newhouse, just outside the VR lab. I had no idea, though, in all of the times that I had passed that wall that just around the corner was a whole other universe that I didn't even realize we had access to. The first thing I tried when I went into the Innovation Lab was the Google Cardboard....
