My individual role in this project involved determining the location to shoot at and going onsite with Nadia and Gabe to film. I also checked out a camera later to be able to film that weekend, but Gabe didn’t respond on Saturday, and then he filmed the next day by himself because I had a training, so it all worked out! As far as post-production, after Nadia worked on editing, I worked on the audio. Video
Assignment 3: 360 sailing

Our Idea was simple. Make a 360 video on the sail team in which you could even learn how to sail within the video. We wanted to make out video one that you could enjoy a nice day out sailing on the lake while at the same time you could use the video to teach yourself how to sail properly. Our producer Glen is the captain of the sail team so it made it really easy to set up a day to work with them and allowed us full control...

by Lenny Martinez You can see DINNER at this link: https://youtu.be/m0fLvTi9V-I You can read the original pitch here: http://www.vrstorytelling.org/assignment-02-vr-video-pitch-lenny-martinez/ What changed? So after taking up the project, we scoped the project down to something we could better manage with the time and resources we had available. Our biggest changes were: We changed the perspective of the viewer from being a person in the scene to being an object (in this case, pita chips on a plate). We scrapped the family dinner and instead arrived at a roommate interview scenario by...
Assignment 3: One Day with an Animal Shelter

https://youtu.be/Pf4mjeXSVUw I went to the CNY SPCA shelter with Osung and Kyle the week before last week. It was a really nice journey and I'm grateful that Kyle had such a interesting idea to make us a good trip. During the filming, we talked about what scenes we need and did the filming together. We also interacted with the workers and animals there. When we came back, I collected all the materials we got, and did the editing by myself. Although there were some accidents (like I didn't expect...

Larissa Urbiks Link to our video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxyP_PeRWi0 I was in the coffee roastery group together with Joshua, Isa, and Ying. We went to Peaks Coffee Company in Cazenovia to shoot our 360 video. We had two Samsung Gears with us to capture the moments from different perspectives at the same time. I didn’t have any individual role because we worked as a team quite good together. We discussed the positions and the levels of the cameras and tried to find interesting angles. We were so interested in the roasting process...
Peaks Coffee Co. – From Green to Cup

A center for community, a local business champion, and the spearhead of millennial culture, the coffee shops and roasteries that dot nearly every small town in the U.S. are landmarks for everyone. They bring people together from all backgrounds to gather around a drink that is common to much of the world: coffee. To highlight this, I would like to produce a 360 tour of Peaks Coffee Company. Peaks is run by a young couple who supply over 30 cafés and coffee shops in Upstate NY. They roast in their...

Today we will be shooting and stitching one video together with the GoPro Omni rig. After shooting, we will go to lab 206B. (Note: your user name will be the beginning of your SU email without the syr.edu, and with g.syr.edu at the end. For example, my account is drpachec@g.syr.edu.) I will post a link to the videos here, and you can download them as long as you are...
Assignment 1: My VR experience
- by mjmulcah

For my life I've never really had the experience to work with VR so for me this first day was really exciting. For me the coolest experience was the tilt brush. For me it was the first time i was ever to create things in a blank 360 universe. When I first tried the simulation I was a little clumsy only because I wasn't used to placing things in a 3D space and it just hanging in the exact spot my hand was. Once I understood that I completely forgot...
Assignment #1- Nadia Persaud

Nadia Persaud Wednesday's class was the first time I had ever been fully immersed in any sort of virtual reality. I had seen 360 videos before, but never through a VR headset. I've always thought the videos were a cool way to experience an event from all angles, but I never imagined how amazing it would be to actually put on a headset. I decided to start off with the solitary confinement virtual reality, since it seemed to be the most interesting concept. Others were really interested in that VR...
The first piece of advice that I want to give to anybody reading this is not to wait. Once you have an idea, don't wait to execute because with time comes change and when your plans start to change too many times close to the due date, it definitely calls for a little extra creative thinking. These things will often be out of your control, like when the Refugee and Immigrant Self-Empowerment (RISE) center pushed back the date of the event that we planned to cover, "refugee day". Some things, like this,...
