This is my final project created by Unity. The story is about a man escaping an asylum that is full of zombie-like patiences. The asylum was created by Cinema4D. I made some of the props, such as the radio, gurneys and the wheelchair. The patiences and the dead body are prefabs. . I used various triggers to make the story, including the door, the walls, the radio and the zombies, etc. Personally, what's good about my project is the dark and scary feeling. I used multiple elements in order to create...
Here is our final project. A 360 dance video featuring Syracuse University's Outlaws Dance Troupe. Enjoy! Bria: Organized shoot Shot scenes alongside LaQuin Stitched first location LaQuin: Shot scenes alongside Bria Stitched second location Edited everything together in premiere We co-stitched the third location because it was giving us a lot of ghosting problems. We took turns trying to fix it. This was a fun experience and we think the video came out great.
My original intrigue to take this VR Storytelling class was to learn how I could use virtual reality in order to tell journalistic stories. As a broadcast journalist, I've had experience in learning how to tell a story through video, but I wanted to expand my technological knowledge in order to tell stories in a different way. The point of telling stories through journalism is to teach the public about something that they don't have knowledge on already. 360° filming offers a unique and immersive experience for the viewer into...
This project is the culmination of a semester’s worth of work. I do not mean that I worked on it all semester. What I mean is, after six weeks of 360 shoots, VR demos, and messing around on the bleeding edge of the field with both software and hardware, I knew what I could do with the resources available to me. More importantly, I knew what I wanted to do with those limitations in mind. First, a little background to help you understand how this project was conceptualized: I am...
Our project is the 360 video of dance performance by Syracuse City Ballet on April 12th. We only had one time opportunity so we borrowed two 360 cameras. However, all six gopros of one camera were all out of battery when we checked the equipment. We had to charge them all as soon as possible. During the shooting, we tried to get to the stage as close as we could, but the staff didn’t allow us to do so. We tried different angles to get better frames. Another problem is...

After seeing a few 360 videos for films and TV shows such as "Zoolander" and "The Walking Dead," I was interested in learning how these traditional media companies are using emerging technology such as VR to captivate their audience. I noticed these videos were promotional material for the actual TV series or movie, giving the fans a behind-the-scenes look at their favorite shows and films. The ability to immerse yourself into the world of a show, especially one very different from your own, is a unique experience that brings you...
Every day, Syracuse University's students and staff populate Marshall Street for many different reasons: some go there for their lunch break, others want to enjoy a cold beer with friend, and some just like to hang out in one of the most famous street in Syracuse. Because of the importance of Marshall Street, for my project I realized a 360 degree video of some of the businesses that made the history of this street. To realize this project I relied on the loved/hated GoPro 360 kit, a Tascam digital recorder,...
