For my final project, I decided to film a 360 horror short film. I have always been a huge fan of the horror genre, and although I have never made films before, I decided to take a whack at it and use my knowledge of sound design to make the film. The equipment/software I used I used was my own Samsung Gear 360, my own tripod, Adobe Premier, Ableton Live, and Audacity, along with the Samsung 360 video stitcher. I chose to base my horror experience around the emergency blue...
The course I took on Lynda is called Introduction to Video Sound Design. As a music student, I have experience working with audio, but not in the context of film. The depths of my sound design within video basically only includes projects I have made for class that have music and/or audio in them. With this course, I was hoping to gain a better understanding of how music and sound effects can help to convey they correct tone in a video. When I was at SXSW this past March, I...

For this assignment, I had a lot of trouble getting Playmaker to work with a lot of the models I tried to use, especially the ones off of Mixamo. I finally realized that none of the animations I was trying to use were legacy animations, and when I finally realized that some of the animations started to work. However, most of them still did not. I think that this is because I was using free animations/models, and I also think that I was not importing all of the data needed...

This was my first time really delving into Unity, and I found it to be both extremely satisfying and extremely frustrating at the same time. Although it was pretty easy to hop into Unity with the basics we learned in class, I soon realized that everything in Unity needs to be extremely precise. I was having a hard time lining up my models with each other at some times. Also, I was unable to get my audio to look, which is something that would have made the fireworks ore engaging....

Coming into this class, I have had several different experiences with VR, with all of them taking place in a variety of settings. I have seen VR set up as activations at several different music festivals, with my first experience being at Firefly Music Festival in 2016. While there they had demonstrations set up where users could try on several different headsets and pick from a number of experiences to try out. I chose a demo where I was a paddle boarder going down a river. What struck me most...
