For this assignment, I decided to film the "Choral Collage" Night at the Setnor Auditorium because it was an important event on campus that fits the style of The New York Times Daily 360. I also believe that a concert in 360 style will bring audience great visual and audial experience. The event featured several choirs, from University Singers to Oratorio Society, showcasing the unbelievable power music had that brought everyone together.
The obstacle I had during the filming process is that it was a live concert. As a result, it was hard for me to move camera around because it would influence the audience's live experience. Thus, I had to move really subtly and tried not to disturb the audience, as well as the performers. What's more, I was afraid of the lighting condition there. However, in the end, the footage seem turn out acceptable, considering they were filmed with Nikon Keymission 360, which does not has great picture quality as Omni kit but is much more convenient for the filmmaker.
I also interviewed some students from the choir, and edited what they've said into the video. Therefore, we get a more comprehensive understanding of what music means to them. It was a fun interview to do and I actually learnt a lot from that.
