I thought, overall, that creating the Unity scene went well. The scene ended up having the rough shape of what I was envisioning. One problem I had was that I was unable to get the castle walls flush with each other. There were gaps between some of the sections. Also, the hill that the tower is on is too steep. However, I am happy that I was able to have the sound from the spaceship overhead be visible on the ground.
There are a few things that I still need to figure out how to do in Unity. First, how do you decrease the level of steepness on mountains? Also, how do you get non-playable characters (like the soldiers in my scene) to move? I think if I were able to do these things, the scene would be a lot better.
I think I could tell a couple of stories with this scene. One story (the one I originally had in mind) would be a planetary invasion. Alternatively, you could add knights and have it be one of people being sent back in time to the Medieval era. I think you have a few options on what you could do with this scene.
Ideally, I would have the scene by much more interactive. Soldiers on both sides would move around exchanging fire. Ships overhead would be shooting at each other. You could enter the castle and explore the base. As you walk around, listen to what the characters are saying, and look at documents and elements in the environment, you would discover the story.
