Brewing in the Middle Ages

I want to see beer brewing happen from the perspective of the Rubenstein family who own the Middle Ages Brewing Company in Syracuse.

Home brew and craft brew beer have become trendy, and are a subject of interest to many people.  I would like to highlight the hard work, the challenges and the complexity of the process which goes into making a craft beer.   I believe it will be impactful to experience the brewing process from the perspective of someone who is passionate and knowledgeable about their craft, and Middle Ages Brewing have been making craft beer since 1995.

I want to shoot in the brew-room, with the camera at head-height, and have one of the brewers walk around the room, telling their story and explaining how the equipment fits into the brewing process.   It would seem like they’re giving a tour, or doing an orientation for a new employee.  The subject will be at a distance of around 15 feet from the camera.

The space will be a large indoor room, with a mixture of natural daylight and artificial light.  I would like to put a wireless lavalier mic. on the subject to record clean audio as they describe the process.  Seeing the brew-room with all the myriad equipment should feel somewhat over-whelming, and we will rely on the subject to be our guide through the process.

I want the audience to feel impressed by the complexity of the process which goes into putting craft beer in their fridge.
