People sitting in a round table eating dinner in a small room in a Chinese restaurant. The camera is set in a chair that as an average human height of 5’5’ to 6’0 sitting next to people. We can see people(subjects) through the lens as well as the course/ dishes on the table. People sitting, talking, eating, picking up food with chopsticks and so forth. There are not much movement as people walking around but there maybe people standing up, walking into the camera and so on. The indoor lighting would be bright but not exposure too much because people need to eat and talk under a normal light setting expressing a happy, relaxing mood. Theoretically, we would be recording audios as people talking/ discussing during the dinner. But the problem would be the audios might be Chinese or they might discuss their personal stuff during the dinner.

Chinese people usually have dinner together on a round table and share dishes which is dramatically different from other countries’ people that sit in a square table. The viewer would have a sense of the embracement while watching the 360 video and understanding what would be like to eat in China/ with Chinese family. If people (subject) can interact with the camera as talking to it, then it would be more likely a great experience of an exchange student.

It would be a really good experience to people who are interested in explore Chinese culture and experience the culture difference. As an international student, I understand that some people that live away from home (home country) would experience loneliness and even home sick sometimes. It would be a bad experience oversea. For people that does not understand foreign languages or lives in a place that they are not familiar with, would feel uncomfortable and confusing as they undergo this type of experience.

The protagonist would be the people that you(viewers) are having dinner with. You watch all their actions and interactions to each other and maybe even to you (as directly talk to the camera.) This is a non-fiction piece as everything happens as a normal sequence in our daily life. The person you(viewers) are eating with might be your friend in exchange school or might be your homestay.

The story would be the chemistry that happens during the interaction between each other. They might have their own backstories that continued into this dinner or they might discuss something interesting and then triggered something else. Everything happens in this limited space but unlimited between people. It is important for people to understand how would one feel when a child(student) live away from home (home county). The viewers could have an experience of what would the exchange student life would be and also what might they encounter if they are going aboard.

Since is a dinner scene, it would be a good idea to also eat at the table so that I can keep an eye on the camera. Also, because it is a private place, the equipment would be much safer than leave it on an open area.
