Abell Assignment Two

I think lots of movement would be a really cool scene if done right. While it is a great experience being in the virtual world inside a room, it is even better when you feel like you are really part of the environment. There is something about the human (or animal) element that really connects with our senses and makes us feel like we are part of the experience -- the empathy machine doing its job. A really cool scene would be either a congregation or someplace very crowded where people are just walking around. One idea could be somewhere like a concert or inside Hendrick's chapel where there would be a lot of people all around you. This would be a place that you would feel completely immersed because there are people all around doing everyday things, so between the visuals and the sound you would feel like you're really there. I would put the camera at normal height level so probably around 5'8 to make it feel like you're right in the crowd. The lighting would obviously be indoor since it would be in an enclosed venue. This would also make it easy to hide from the camera because I would just look like another person sitting in the seats or standing in the crowd minding his own business, which is another reason this idea is compelling to me.
The experience that I hope to give is one of actually being at the concert. I think it would be really cool to sit in your living room while actually having the complete experience of being at the Billy Joel concert at the Carrier Dome. I can't think of any reasons why people would want to avoid this experience other than the fact that they may not like concerts, but most people do; plus, a lot of people avoid going to concerts because it is expensive and this would be a great solution. I recently heard that Adelle tickets were going for something like $600 for general admission which is insane. Even if I loved Adelle, being a college student I would not be able to go just because I don't have that kind of money to spend, and I feel like the same goes for the average population. But, what if someone recorded the concert and sold it online for, let's say, $30? Adelle and the venue would obviously get a portion of the money so that's not a bad deal for her, and more people would be able to have the experience of being at her concert. The people who have that kind of money would still go to the concert because they want to actually be there, but for the average person this would be a great alternative. Similarly, maybe you really wanted to go to see Zac Brown Band at the Carrier Dome but you couldn't because you had to go to your sister's wedding: no problem, you could just buy the video and virtually go to the concert when you get home.
This is also cool because you are not manufacturing anything but just putting someone in a place where the experience around them is what tells the full story. It wouldn't even matter if you were sitting in the crowd in one of the seats or standing in the bottom area, you would still have the full experience of being there.
